And it's even worse when you

And it's even worse when you start but don't finish... and 40% don't graduate. All that money for basically nothing.

The practical,,,

The practical,,,

This doesn't exactly fit here but after reading the article in the first post ( and you should read it too ) I will make this brief.
A student I know went to a seminar at one of our universities . He was asked to define himself by a word that began with the first letter of his name. Arnold* ( not his real name) chose the word "aeronautical". Six people did not know what that meant. No, it wasn't six of the other students. It was six of the college staff teaching the seminar !
Well, DUH ; Aeronautical would mean he is interested in aviation and related subjects. Maybe he already has a license to fly. Maybe he studies aviation and space travel. Maybe his dad is an aviation mechanic and he follows his dad. Maybe his career goal is to join the Air Force. ( God forbid that we have students with a military interest in our colleges ) .
Or should we just say that MAYBE the college staff is pathetically DUMB. ( which begs the question; what are you going to learn from them ? )

Is it the salt air? The drinking water? What's making all these kids so smart, all of a sudden?

(Hint: If you've ever hired someone enrolled in honors classes, you know the answer.)

Everyone getting honors?

Everyone getting honors? When I graduated, only a small few did.

Can we say "participation trophy"? Yes, We Can!

Now everyone is in the top

Now everyone is in the top quarter of their class.

Is this a great system or what?
